If large parts of the tooth substance is damaged, simple composite fillings will not be adequate and we will have to restore the affected area with a crown. The crown is a “cap” that is placed over the the damaged tooth, covering it and restoring its shape, size and strength.

Crowns can be fashioned out of porcelain, metal (usually gold) or a combination of the aforementioned. The result both looks and feels like a natural tooth.
